However, its roots can be traced back to the Camden Hunt Club of 1827, possibly the first hunting club to be founded in a still young America. Today Cabin Bluff reflects a rustic elegance and maintains a hunting tradition well in character with its fabled history. A Better Bird Dog
Cabin Bluff is characterized by a spirit of camaraderie, of loyalty, of enduring friendship. Nothing more accurately illustrates this ideal than a bird dog. The normal method of training dogs is to use a pointer to find and point and then, after the flush, to retrieve the downed bird. The pointers at Cabin bluff are trained to be steady to wing and shot while the Labrador retrievers are taught to flush and retrieve. Seasoned hunters know pairing these two breeds provides a superior quail hunting experience. And even novice hunters will easily recognize that our dogs are trained to entertain and captivate.
